Over the past two weeks, we've been wrapping up the NYC West Village townhouse interior design and renovation we began last November. The home was already in great shape, but the previous owner did not take good care of it. We came in and added all new lighting, a new HVAC system, a Nanny's room and a roof deck coming some time next year. All of the walls were skimmed, new cabinetry added, and an automated shading system provides privacy and shading.
We can't show you much - but I couldn't resist sharing some of my favorite elements with you.
We replaced the existing halogen lighting throughout the house with seamless fixtures. The stair lights emphasize the clean lines and integrated scheme.
White is the theme in the downstairs guest room. This bed from Cyrus Company brings clouds to the bottom floor.
The client's office features a wild silk rug from Fort Street Studio and lounge chairs from Minotti.
The Dining Room lighting is custom designed by Kati Curtis and made by Lindsey Adelman. Here are samples of the custom globes we designed.
The client who just gave birth to a perfect baby girl wanted the Nursery to be red. This rug by Patricia Urquiola for GAN was the perfect soft solution. A chair by Jens Risom for Knoll is a comfy snuggle spot.
Across the floor from the Nursery is a Guest Room that will be another child's room at some point in the not so distant future I'm sure. This light fixture from Moooi is not too juvenile and not too grown up.
We'll share some more after all of these Cassina boxes are unloaded....
