11 Beach Street Interior Design
If you follow us on Instagram, you've probably seen more than a few previews for our 11 Beach Street interior design and renovation!! 11 Beach is a new building designed by BKSK and Thomas Juul-Hansen, and we are making our magic on one of the full-floor units. Working with our friends at Best and Company, we're adding millwork, all new lighting, a tracery ceiling in the main living space, and furnishing the home top to bottom for a beautiful family relocating to NYC from Toronto, Canada.
You can view the renderings we did of the interior spaces in the Portfolio section of our website, but the fun part is not so much the pretty pictures, but the process we went through to get to the construction stage. The client is based in Toronto, CA, and contracted us to handle all aspects of the project - from the architecture of the space to the decorative finishes and furnishings. Since we're the feet on the ground, we're the client's eyes and ears, making sure every little detail is attended to so they can just show up and enjoy their new life in NYC.
The Great Room
The Great Room design (shown above), includes a walled enclosure that we added to the previously open plan space. The Clients cook a lot, so they wanted to be able to separate off the kitchen area, but keep the visual openness to the living areas. We used a Nanawall system to enclose the kitchen without losing visual access to the seating and dining areas.
The Dining Room
Directly off the enclosed Kitchen is the dining area. The space was tight, and the client entertains a lot, so the interior design for this space had to work for big gatherings. We custom designed a dining table that has to be made in sections so the we can actually get it up the elevator and into the apartment! We designed custom bronze seams, so even through it will be pieced together onsite, it will have beautiful details!
The Kitchen
The kitchen came with great bones, but our client needed more storage. Because we were able to add the wall that separates the kitchen area, we were able to provide additional full height storage, adding a much needed pantry space.
